Television academy
visual IDENTITY design

Agency:
SIEGEL+GALE

BACKGROUND:
The Television Academy is a professional organization based in North Hollywood, California. It is best known for presenting the annual Primetime Emmy Awards honoring excellence in American television. The organization also provides various educational and professional development programs, as well as archives and a library of television shows and related materials.

ROLE:
The Television Academy sought to redefine its role in the entertainment industry, seeking to win more public recognition for its work beyond the Emmys. The academy approached Siegel+Gale for a rebrand, and my role was to create a new master identity that could stand alongside the iconic Emmy statuette symbol. I designed a "portal device" that pairs the logotype with supporting graphics, partners, or program identities. Additionally, I refreshed the Emmy statuette symbol to enhance its legibility on smaller applications.
